Dazai’s probably been super non religious for a long period of time but I’m Super Duper Muslim, but also since fiction is what we make of it, representation is important, and everything else has been headcanoned already, how about Muslim!Dazai. Because he’s my fav and we fans do what we want!

Mostly tho I say this because I was thinking about this Hadith (non-Quranic but true Islamic story) that reminded me of him:

tl;dr the man in the story did lots of awful things and even though he died before he could make up for them, he died trying and on the road to being a good person. So he was forgiven, and he still deserved forgiveness, and nobody had any right to say he didn’t. He was still a good person, all because he tried his best. And I think Dazai would find comfort in that regardless of my headcanon ;3;
