Name authors/poets you wanna see in BSD

Not sure if this has been done before, but I would die to see Leo Tolstoy, Anna Akhmatova or Marina Tsvetaeva. Hell, Mikhail Bulgakov would be great too.
I can see War and Peace (Tolstoy), “Requiem” (Akhmatova), “My Demon” (Tsvetaeva), or Heart of a Dog (Bulgakov) being kickass abilities.
(Especially since I felt a bit let down by how Pushkin was portrayed. I mean, he’s ONLY considered the “father of the Russian language.” ;P)

I would love a Tolstoy in BSD! My parents (who are from a former Soviet country) are very fond of his writing. I personally would like Robert Louis Stevenson, Jules Verne, Charles Dickens, and Arthur Conan Doyle. The latter especially, he’s the author of Sherlock Holmes, one of the most famous mystery series!

You know why Atsushi is appealing as a hero?

I’ve been watching some other anime and the abused orphan trope seems to be pretty common. They’re hurt as a kid, deemed useless, and so when they’re older they go on a quest of sorts to prove that they’re strong and never let anybody hurt them again, they’re angry and aggressive and prepared to prove their worth.

Atsushi… Isn’t that.

He’s kind and compassionate and caring and helpful. He just wants to be alive, he wants to earn money to support himself, he just wants his favorite food. First episode shows him trying to steal but ending up saving a life instead (and all the good that follows, with Dazai taking him in and caring for him, even if the Agency can get into a lot of trouble, at least Atsushi isn’t alone anymore.)

And even later on when he is trying to prove his worth, he’s doing it by helping people, not by hurting them. Not by defeating Akutagawa but by shoving him aside so he can save Yokohama, and later even teaming up with him when he sees it to be necessary.

Atsushi is good because despite all the horrible things that happened to him, he’s not out for revenge nor is he a bitter person…

Ultimately, he just wants to live.
